placencioEarl R. Placencio, 74, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Sunday, March 10, 2019 in Las Cruces, NM. He was born February 24, 1945 in Deming, NM to Regina Placencio. Earl proudly served his country with the U.S. Army; Veteran of the Vietnam war and was in the NM National Guard for many years. Earl was a proud father of three children and loved to see his grandchildren when he could. He loved his pet Missy who was more of a fourth child than a pet.  He worked as a type setter at the Chino Mines and then later for the Unicorn Press. He was the youngest of XXX children. Some of his favorite sayings: “loved from all sides”; “When I’m good I’m good, when I’m bad I am even better”; “I’m glad you got to see me today”; “I love you more”; “You got it Dude”.  Things he loved to do: Collecting coins. He was an avid gold prospector and had fair luck panning gold out of the sand he would collect from a “secret site”. He loved the outdoors and camping whether at the Elephant Butte lake or in the Gila Forest. He also enjoyed turkey and deer hunting. He enjoyed watching the Westerns on television.  Last but not least he loved to eat, whether it was the Caldo that he made at home, or the rarest of prime rib and steaks. He was a very kind man to all that knew him. He will be missed dearly.
