watsonCharles Amos Watson, 97, entered eternal rest Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Ft. Bayard Medical Center.  He was born October 3, 1921 in Abilene, TX to John Watson and Buelah Boothe Watson. Mr. Watson proudly served his country during WWII with the U.S. Navy. He was a husband, father, farmer, pilot, carpenter, friend, lover of God and nature. There are no words to express how he will be missed. His favorite verse, 1 Cor 2:9, will keep us until we meet again. He is survived by one son, Greg Roland Watson of Chandler, AZ; one daughter, Lynell Rae Anderson of Tucson, AZ; two grandchildren, David and Braden Watson; five great-granddaughters, Olivia, Penelope, Evelyn, Georgia, and Clementine; one great-grandson, Landon; nieces, Julie Celeste McCormack, Cynthia Elaine McCormack, Mary Lee Shepard, Nancy Watson, Fredda Watson.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Virginia Lester Watson (’08); two brothers, Dub and Holis Watson. Visitation will be Friday, March 29 from 9-9:30am at Seventh Day Adventist Church with the funeral service to follow at 9:30am with Rev. Jorge Morales to officiate. Concluding service and interment will follow at Ft. Bayard National Cemetery with full military honors. Pallbearers will be David and Braden Watson, Joe Gonzales, Greg Watson, Mike Searles, and Tommy French.
