passed away on April 27, 2019. A visitation will be held at Bright Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery. She is survived by her two daughters, Patricia Willis of Silver City and her companion Daniel Hernandez and their daughters Audrey and Alisa Hernandez, Tanya Willis of Silver City and one son Christopher “Chris” Willis. One brother, Robert Schaffner, of Chandler, Arizona; three nieces, Amber Schaffner, Mikaela Schaffner, and Kristyn Schaffner, of Phoenix, Arizona; and four grandnieces, Peyton, Bailee, Charlotte, and Trinity, of Phoenix, Arizona. She is preceded in death by her parents Curtis Schaffner Jr. and Carol Schaffner. 

She was born and raised in Silver City, New Mexico. Julie graduated Silver High in 1979 then attended Western New Mexico University and graduated with a Business Degree. She worked for Chino Federal Credit Union and other banks with 25 years in banking experience. Julie was always the type of person who made sure all her family members were taken care of. Julie was known for her wonderful smile and willingness to help others. She was a loving, kind hearted person to all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
