rodriguez 02 1On Mother’s Day Ronald C Rodriguez, Ronnie, peacefully left this earth to be with his heavenly Father.

He was a typical little boy tearing up Barbie dolls throwing rocks riding his bike. He played football with the neighborhood kids and had the dog on his team. He had a way of making everybody laugh everyone wanted to be around him he was the life of the party.

rodriguez 01He followed his Dad - Fred Dominguez in becoming a wrestler. He was on the Silver High School wrestling team and won many medals and championships under the leadership and coaching of then coach Sam Portillo and his assistant Herman Anderson. His skills were unsurpassed. During his high school career, he meets up and wrestled an Oklahoma wrestler. This wrestler held an outstanding record of 130 wins to 1 lost. That one loss was to Ronnie Rodriguez from New Mexico. He and his brother Sammy Ray both brought wrestling district championship medals on mom’s birthday. As a father he coached his sons and they became successful wrestlers with many wins.

As a young man he took his talent and love of wrestling to Albuquerque New Mexico. There he coached and trained so many youths from so many schools in the Albuquerque school district. His kids fondly called him Rondawg. His pride and joy are his son Isaac’s record and Jude’s. Both very talented and highly respected on wrestling mat.

Ronnie loved to go hunting on the Ranch with dad, his best friend Lex Schadel his brothers his sister and sons among others. He loved the outdoors. This was his leisure time with family and friends. He always sought after his family reaching out to his brothers and sisters always the protector and mom’s baby.

Family was his life and his breath. His wrestling friends and teammates gave him an existence no one else could. But how longed for that human touch, conversation and love of his family here, Teresa Christina, Joey, Chris, Sammy mom and dad. His want and desire to be with his own daughters Lori Ann, Destiny, his granddaughters Lexi and Bella. And he missed getting to meet his new nephew Anthony Jr, Ambers and Joeys new baby. He loved and enjoyed his son Gabriel, his daughters Lori and Destiny as they were growing up. His son Isaac never left his side and he never left Isaac’s side. He always trusted in God, Jesus Christ the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Michael and his guardian angel. He served as an altar boy at St. Vincent’s Catholic Church under Father Milano. Ronnie will be greatly missed, prayed for, and always and forever loved. 

Ronnie leaves behind in this world, his mother Dori (Dolores), his dad Fred, his brothers Sammy Ray (Sam), Christopher and his wife Alazea, Joseph (Joey, Big Joe) and his wife Amber, his sisters Christina (Mary) and her husband Anthony and his sister Teresa (Tessie), his nieces Cynthia, Christina, and Charlize. His Donna of the home and children Taylor, Erin, and Jude where he spent the remainder of his life and took his last breath.  

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 21 from 5-6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with Deacon Bill Holguin reciting the holy rosary at 6pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 22 at 1:30pm at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Oliver Obele officiating. Concluding service and interment will follow at St. Vincent Catholic cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gabriel Rodriguez, Isaac Rodriguez, Sammy R. Rodriguez, Christopher Rodriguez, Joseph Rodriguez and Antonio Lucero.
