Juana Hurtado Gonzales, 88, a resident of Hanover, NM entered eternal rest Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Gila Regional Medical Center. She was born December 27, 1923 in Santa Rita. She loved cooking, baking, sewing, playing cards, working in her flower garden, camping with her family, visiting with her comadres and compadres and being with her family outside. She was active in the church singing in the choir and did her Cursillo. She loved being with her all her family especially her grandchildren and having cook outs. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, comadre, godmother and friend to all that knew her. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by one son, Antonio "Sugar Bear" Gonzales Sr. of Hanover; one daughter, Lupe Gonzales Maldonado and companion Edward Duarte of Silver City; her grandchildren, Marissa Maldonado of Silver City; Arthur F. Gonzales, of Hanover, Armando F. Gonzales his wife Theresa of Bayard; Robert Villalobos and companion Jennifer Palomarez of Silver City; Marie Gonzales and Michael (Mikey) Gonzales; four sisters, Chen Savorillo of Hurley; Maria Rios of Bayard; Rosa Cordero of Los Angeles, CA and Celia Gonzales of CA; two brothers, Kiki Hurtado of Bayard; Dodo Hurtado of Silver City; her god-children, Adam Flores of Bayard and Roy Flores of Hanover; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 yrs., Manuel L. Gonzales ('04); her parents, Jose and Leocadia Hurtado; one grandson, Anthony Fuentes Jr.; her brother, Ramon Hurtado; one daughter-in law, Florence P. Gonzales. Visitation will be Friday, April 6th from 5-7pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the prayer vigil to start at 7:30pm with Deacon David CastaƱon reciting the holy rosary. The funeral service will be celebrated Saturday, April 7th at 10am at Our Lady of Fatima Church with Father Paulus Kao officiating. The interment will follow the service at Hanover cemetery. Pallbearers will be Anthony Aguirre III, Alex, Ayrek, and Nathan Aguirre, David Gonzales, Armando Gonzales Jr., Marissa Maldonado and Lucas Flores.
