reyes 03Carmen Romelia Reyes, 84, a resident of Santa Clara, NM entered eternal rest Saturday, October 19, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born February 6, 1935 in Galeana, Mexico to Cirilio Jimenez and Adela Piñon Acosta. She was a dedicated mother of nine and beloved wife of 56 years. She was a dedicated kitchen volunteer at the Santa Clara Senior Citizens during her active years. She will be remembered by her beauty and many talents in cooking, baking, crocheting, seamstress, and singing. She was an avid reader; loved to do puzzles, watch her favorite movies and most of all enjoyed her time with her family. She had a heart of gold that went out and touched her children, grandchildren, and all her many close friends and friends she considered family. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by two sons, Jose Reyes Jr. and wife Juanita of Silver City; Daniel Reyes of Silver City; seven daughters, Reina Barragan of Silver City; Yolanda Maynes (Richard) of Santa Clara; Olga Amador (Elias) of Santa Clara; Norma Reyes (George) of Santa Clara; Sylvia Reyes of Silver City; Carmen Reyes and companion James Stein of Arenas Valley; Marina Nolan (Anthony) of Silver City; fifty grandchildren; ninety-one great grandchildren; thirty-five great great grandchildren; also surviving her are thirteen brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jose Reyes (2008); twenty-one siblings; two sisters in-law, Genoveva Reyes and Guadalupe Paz.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 23rd from 5-6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the holy rosary being recited by Richard Maynes Jr. to begin at 6pm. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, October 24 at 1pm at Santa Clara Catholic Church with Father Casmir Anozie officiating.

Concluding service and interment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband. Pallbearers will be Dan Reyes, Jose Reyes Jr., Javier Reyes, Daniel Reyes Jr., Mario Barragan, and Jose Reyes III.
