Santana Cardenas Martinez, 100, a former resident of Glenwood, NM entered eternal rest Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Fort Bayard Medical Center. He was born February 17, 1923 in Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico to Jesus Francisco Martinez and Trinidad Cardenas.

Santana loved the outdoors!  He hunted, trapped and fished. He was a rancher for many years then moved on to working in the mines (dozer operator) for Kennecott Copper Corp. He also enjoyed playing billiards. He had many friends who will miss him dearly.

Santana is survived by one son, Jesus Martinez and companion Dorrie Gurule of Albuquerque; two grandchildren, Marcos and Leila Martinez; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Concepcion Urias; two sons, Ray and Oscar Martinez; two daughters, Lupita and Alicia Martinez; three brothers, Pancho, Tony, and Nacho Martinez; three sisters, Carmen, Maria, and Dolores Martinez.

A memorial service will be celebrated on Friday, March 31 at 10am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with Deacon Art Gutierrez  reciting the prayer vigil/rosary.
