Victoria Carbajal Urenda, 91, longtime Deming resident passed away at her home Friday December 14, 2012.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 o'clock Wednesday December 19, 2012 at St. Ann's Catholic Church. The rite of committal and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Fr. Enrique Lopez Escalera will officiate.

She was born March 6, 1921 in Janos, Chihuahua, Mexico to Andrea Madrin and Jose Carbajal and married Juan R. Urenda on Feb. 17, 1948 in Deming. She was a homemaker and a communicant at St. Ann's Catholic Church.

Survivors include 4 sons, Henry Urenda of Deming, Richard Urenda of Los Lunas, John Urenda of Carlin, Nevada and Refugio Urenda of Spring Creek, Nevada; 2 daughters, Anita Palomares of Vanadium and Yolanda Matos of Deming; brother, Bartolo Carbajal of Deming and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Juan Urenda in 1995 and several brothers and sisters.

Serving as pallbearers will be Refugio, Robert, Thomas and John Urenda Jr., Victor Palo and Angel Cruz.
