William Ray Burns (Billy), 81, a resident of Reserve, NM

BurnsWWilliam Ray Burns (Billy), 81, took his last ride to be with his Heavenly Father on June 21st, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 18, 1941 to his parents, Charles Wesley and Veltie Alene (Martin) Burns in Morenci, Arizona.

Through the years, Billy made his living by working for the Forest Service, Phelps Dodge Tyrone, and on various road construction jobs. He spent most of his latter years living on the Hudson Ranch, which he loved dearly, near Reserve, NM. He was always up for a good mule deer hunt and helping his family with their hunts. Camp fires were a place for stories and music. One thing Billy enjoyed most was singing with his sons and sister Ella Mae. He was a true mountain man and spent most of his time maintaining the ranch and living a simple life. Billy was known for his loving, caring, patient ways, and his love for music and dancing. We are thankful for the memories and he will be missed by all.

Petra Gomez Ramirez, 73, a resident of Silver City, NM

RamirezPPetra Gomez Ramirez, 73, was given her wings on Monday, June 19th, 2023 and welcomed home by her Creator. She was born on January 20, 1950 to her parents, Andres Duran and Maria Cyrilda (Placencio) Gomez in Silver City, New Mexico.

She loved with sincerity and lived a life of faith. She never failed to see the beauty in people and the world around her. She was always forgiving to a fault and, through her kindness and love, we were given an ember of compassion that will forever warm our hearts. Her smile, her laughter and the presence of this angel, only briefly lent to those blessed enough to have felt her love, will forever be missed but never ever forgotten.
