Maura Rico, 87, a longtime resident of Lordsburg passed away Monday June 12, 2023 in the comfort of her home with her children by her side. Arrangements are pending.

Manuel Quinteros-Lopez, 64, a resident of Silver City, NM

Quinteros Lopez1It is with great sadness that the family of Manuel Quinteros announces his passing. He went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on June 1st 2023. He was 64 years of age. 
 
Manuel was a very hardworking man. He worked for Mathis Mine for 20 years also with Luis Terrazas Construction for 26 years. He was a very loving man who would have given his shirt off his back for you. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and of course time with his family and also his 49ers. He is loved by so many and will be missed by all.
 
Manuel leaves behind his loving wife Teresa Quinteros (Tessie) of 44 years; His two loving strong caring sons Manuel (Christina) Quinteros of Tucson Az Marcos (Sandra) Quinteros of Silver City NM and His Daughter His Babygirl Tammie Quinteros (sol) (Scott) Clay. All his grandchildren his everything’s Analissa, Enrique, Brandon, Destiny, Eddie Joe, Izik, Esmia, Ivan, Monica, David III, Rocco, Isis, Scott Jr, Abraham.  He also leaves behind his loving Mother Elena Quinteros and six brother and six sisters Also Nieces, Nephews God children and His loving sister in law Lucy Morales (Luis) And Brother in Law Tony Flores (Dolores).
 
Memorial Mass will be on Sunday, August 27th at 10am at St Vincent’s De Paul Catholic Church with Father Peter Okonkwo officiating.  Concluding service family will celebrate his life at Knights of Columbus at 11:30am.

John B. (Bennie) Harter Jr., 76, a resident of Hurley, NM

HarterJohn B. (Bennie) Harter Jr., 76, a resident of Hurley, NM entered eternal rest Friday, May 20th 2023 at his residence.  He was born September 15, 1946 in Seattle, WA to John Benjamin Harter Sr., and Rita Dolores Faron. 

Bennie proudly served his country with the U.S. Army (66-68).  He was an avid car collector.  He worked as an operator in a wrecking yard.   He had many friends that he spent time with; they watched after him after his health declined.

He is survived by his sister, Zona Eileen Howard and husband Bennie of Battle Ground, WA; two nieces, Stacie Booth and husband Nathan; Tina Howard; one nephew, Chantry Howard and wife Amy.

Ernesto Chacon Maldonado, 85, a resident of Silver City, NM

maldonado1Ernest Chacon Maldonado, 85 a life-long resident of Silver City, NM, entered eternal rest on June 4, 2023 at Mesilla Valley Hospice Las Cruces, NM. He was born February 2, 1938 in Silver City, NM to Porfirio and Anita Maldonado.

Ernest served in Korea in the United States Army's Nuclear Division. For numerous of years he operated "The Pet Shop" in Silver City. He enjoyed gardening, caring for his fishponds, and the family ranch in Gila. He loved preparing meals and serving them to his family and many friends. Everyone was welcomed into his kitchen with his infectious smile and delicious cooking. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by one nephew, Ralph Cardoza, one niece, Annette Zimmerman (Clint). Four grandniece/nephews: Amanda Cardoza (Antonio Carrillo), Benjamin Cardoza, Aiden Zimmerman, Avren Zimmerman. Three great grandnieces/nephew: Yesenia Carrillo, Aliyana Carrillo, and Nathan Cardoza. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Antonia Cardoza and her husband Johnny Cardoza.
