Debra Ann Marin, 51, a resident of Silver City, NM

marinobit1 copyDebra Ann Marin, 51, a resident of Silver City, NM, entered eternal rest Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at her residence.  Debra was born on October 29, 1971 to her parents Lino and Aurora (Holguin) Marin in Silver City, New Mexico.  

She was a beloved companion, mom, grandmother, daughter, aunt and friend to many.  She was a social butterfly who loved to talk and be around others.  She was extremely bright and had a way with making others smile and when she loved, she loved hard.  There was never a dull moment around her.  She is very loved and will be deeply missed. 

She is survived by her mother Aurora Marin of Bayard, NM; her companion, Ronnie Hernandez of Silver City, NM; her two sons, Nathan Chavez (Jobeth) of Tucson, AZ, Jerrad Chavez of Bayard, NM; her daughter, Zaylene Chavez (Jesse) of Silver City, NM; her stepchildren, Jacob, Adrian and Audra Hernandez of Silver City, NM; her brother Arnold Marin (Julie) of Santa Clara, NM; her sister Lorraine Delgado (Ronald) of Arenas Valley, NM; her six grandchildren, Iyzak, Zaden, Nayanah, Zamuel, Jedi, Zejai; and her two step grandchildren, Jaylynn and Raylynn.  She was preceded in death by her father, Lino Marin.  

A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory.  Arrangements are with Terrazas Funeral Chapels and Crematory “Trust care for the ones you love” ~ 575-537-0777.  To send condolences, visit www.terrazasfuneralchapel.com.

miranda pic copyEvan “Abie” Mateo Miranda, 73, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Gila Regional Medical Center. Abie was born on September 18, 1949 to Mateo and Isabelita (Apodaca) Miranda.

Abie was a man who lived his life his way and may God have mercy on his soul.  

He is survived by a daughters Diane and Amber Miranda; his three brothers, Joe Miranda (Norma) of Santa Clara, NM, Richard Miranda of Monticello, NM and Jerry Miranda of Santa Clara, NM; his three sisters, Molly Ramirez of Bayard, NM, Alsie Beltran of Santa Clara, NM and Ramona Miranda of Albuquerque, NM; his numerous nieces and nephews.

Sabas Espinoza Villagran, 90, a resident of Silver City, NM

villagranobit1Sabas Espinoza Villagran, 90, a resident of Silver City, NM, entered eternal rest Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Mesilla Valley Hospice in Las Cruces, NM. Sabas was born in Chihuahua, Mexico on December 5, 1932 to his parents Melquiades and Esther (Espinoza) Villagran. From a very young age, he learned the value of hard work. He enjoyed swimming in the river and was nicknamed “la rana”. He moved to New Mexico and worked at the H-Y Ranch in Mule Creek where he and his wife started their lives together. He later went on to work in various local mines. Sabas retired from Brown and Root but didn’t like staying home. He worked as a custodian at the Silver Schools and enjoyed interacting with the students and staff. Sabas enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his great grandkids. He was a person of great honor and had a laugh that will be unforgettable. He passed peacefully with family by his side.

Brad Michael Young, 46, a resident of Silver City, NM

youngobitBrad was born in Silver City NM on March 17, 1977. In 1983, the family moved from Silver City to Hobbs, NM where Brad attended grade school until another move took them to Buffalo Gap, TX. There he attended the Jim Ned Schools. The family relocated back to Silver City in 1989. While in school, Brad participated in baseball and football. He graduated in 1995 and enlisted in the army where he was trained as a combat medic and was stationed at Fitzsimmons Army Hospital in Colorado.

Brad was a true animal lover and considered applying for the Army Veterinary corps but openings in that field were rare at the time. He was accepted into the Army’s Green to Gold program which took him out of active duty as he worked on his degree at NMSU. Eventually he reenlisted and was stationed at Ft. Carson in Colorado.

Barbara Louise Nance, 73, Silver City

March 19, 1950 ~ March 20, 2023 (age 73)

Barbara went home to be with Jesus on March 20, 2023 in Silver City, New Mexico. She was born on March 19, 1950 to Annon and Virginia Jorgen in Glendale, California. She was the first born of her parents' 3 children

When she was six years old her family moved to Granada Hills, California. Barbara lived in the same house until she left home at the age of 18. She graduated from James Monroe High School in 1968.

In 1976 she married her high school sweetheart, Sherwood Nance. They enjoyed an adventurous life together. They traveled in their RV, rode motorcycles, and owned a swimming pool service business. In addition they worked together creating metal sculptures. Throughout their life they loved their many pet dogs, who truly were their best friends.
