The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa continues with a Red Flag Warning, which remains in effect to 7 PM MDT this evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa has issued a Red Flag Warning for Sunday, which is in effect from noon to 8 PM MDT Sunday. The Fire Weather Watch that was out, is no longer in effect.

 

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zone 111.

* WIND...West to southwest at 20 to 30 mph with gusts 40 to 50
mph rest of this afternoon and Sunday.

* HUMIDITY...9 to 15 percent rest of this afternoon and again
Sunday.

* HIGHEST THREAT...Hidalgo, Luna and southern Grant counties.

* IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
