1116191206Town Staff will Monitor Effectiveness

Volunteers recently painted a "traffic calming" test project at the corner of Yucca and 23rd streets to slow down traffic at this busy intersection. The project was hosted by District 1 Councilor Cynthia Bettison, and is the final "Territorial Charter Days"-inspired work project of the year.

Each year, town staff and the town council organize volunteer community improvement projects in each of the town's four council districts, designed to bring residents together to improve the quality of life in their neighborhood. If the crosswalk-like design does prove to slow traffic, it will likely be replicated at other intersections.
