The Disabled American Veterans Chapter 1 ofGrant County/Ft Bayard held a drawing for the .223 Savage Axis Bolt Action Rifle as a fundraising effort during its Monthly Meeting held on November 13.

After the SouthWest Quilts of Valor ladies presented a quilt to Marine Veteran Jose Parra, the Chapter asked Carl Pickering of the Quilters to draw the winning tickets from the ticket box.

1st Prize, a .223 Savage Axis bolt Action rifle with a 3x9 Scope and a carrying case, went to Valerie Nash, a retired EMT.

2nd Prize, a $200.00 Walmart Gift Card, went to Ryan Oglevie/ McCormack, an area Rancher.

3rd Prize, a $100.00 Walmart Gift Card, went to Manuel Maldonado, a Grant County Sheriff Deputy.

Chapter 1 wishes to thank all the generous people of Southwest New Mexico and some as far away ask Canada for their generous donations to make this fundraising effort a success.
