image0162020 Grant County 4-H Council Officer Team (R-L): Kurstyn Johnson, Sarah Gardner, Cooper Miller, Carson Billings, Madison Miller, Rylee EvansSILVER CITY - Each year a new rotation of youth is elected to county 4-H council leadership positions. These youths are the leaders of their peers and guide the 4-H program throughout the year. The new slate of officers will serve a one-year term. Throughout the year youths are responsible for conducting county 4-H business, learning parliamentary procedure, organizational skills, budgeting, planning as well as complete community service and increase their public speaking skills. 

The 2020 Grant County 4-H Council Leadership Team are:

image016pt1Holly Tow, 2019 Friend of 4-H Award RecipientThe Grant County Friend of 4-H was also voted on during the recent business meeting of the 4-H Council. This is the most prestigious award that is given to members of the community from the youth of the county. Holly Tow was voted by the youth at the council meeting as the 2019 Friend of 4-H Award recipient. Holly has given numerous hours of dedication and service to the youth of the county teaching them braiding skills. We would like to congratulate her and thank her for her time. Holly will be receiving a gift from Grant County 4-H as well as have her name added to the plaque that is on display at the Grant County Cooperative Extension office.

Jessica Swapp, Grant County 4-H/Ag Agent added “it was a big night for our 4-H members and the community. Several members of the community were discussed as potential recipients of the Friend of 4-H Award and each were very deserving. We look forward to adding Holly to the display plaque and are looking forward to working with our new group of 2020 4-H Council Officers.”
