youngfamilyEd Young has been an active member of the community with various different positions throughout the last 30 years at Parrish, Stream, HMS, The Murray Hotel, etc. He is also a member and administrator of the Arenas Valley Church of Christ.

In 2013, Ed was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease as a result of medication to treat his hypertension. He is now currently on the UNOS list to receive a kidney transplant if one becomes available. His granddaughter Maryssa is being evaluated to be a living kidney donor through the paired exchange program in hope that it will help him receive a kidney sooner.

Because all appointments for preparation and conduction of the kidney transplant must be done at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, travel costs are a major factor. Not to mention that even with his Medicare health coverage, the out of pocket cost for a transplant will be substantial.

The Young family has partnered with the National Foundation for Transplants to help with fundraising efforts. You can access the website here.

If you have any further questions or need any more information please feel free to contact Maryssa Young at 575-313-0849.
