New Mexicans Can Sign Petition Against Regressive Energy Law Written by Out-Of-State Radical Environmental Groups

SANTA FE - New Mexicans will now have a voice in repealing the controversial Energy Transition Act (ETA.) On Thursday, Power The Future launched EnergyTransitionTruth.Com which allows New Mexicans to sign a petition to let their elected leaders know that our state will not tolerate the job-killing policies that harm not only our families but also entire communities.

“The law was written and supported by radial environmental groups who don’t care about our jobs or our state’s economy,” said Larry Behrens, Western States Director for Power The Future. “New Mexicans deserve to determine their energy future without the regressive eco-left and their out-of-state brokers getting insider access.”

New Mexicans are encouraged to visit EnergyTransitionTruth.Com to learn more about how the ETA will kill jobs and cost our communities billions of dollars. They can then sign the petition to let lawmakers know we will stand up for New Mexico’s energy workers against environmental special interests and repeal the ETA.

Just a few months ago, an investigation by Power The Future revealed New Mexico’s Energy Secretary gave special access to her former environmental employer while writing the ETA. Throughout the process, the state’s energy workers and ratepayers were left out while radical environmental groups were allowed to dictate the controversial law.

More recently the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission, in a bipartisan vote, took action to more thoroughly review the impact of the ETA on New Mexico’s families. The move brought scorn from the eco-left along with a politically motivated call for impeachment.
