The Empty Bowls Fundraiser on October 26, 2019 was a rousing success as people thronged The Commons to buy a handcrafted ceramic bowl and enjoy a meal of soup, bread and some cookies. The event benefits food pantries throughout Grant County, and also raises awareness of food insecurity in the community.
Ceramic artists, local restaurants and businesses and churches and other volunteer groups came together to make the event happen. By one o’clock, with an hour to go, over 150 walk-in tickets had been sold, and this was in addition to the 85 pre-sold tickets.
All proceeds and other donations go to Grant County food pantries.
