According to an official source, an unresponsive 46-year-old man with a Silver City address was found by a city worker lying on the ground near the Gough Park Pavilion at about 7:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, 2019. Cause of death will await the results of an autopsy. However it appears the man may have died from exposure as he was not dressed for cold weather wearing thin athletic pants, T–shirt, and a light jacket, the source said.

The man was transported by EMS personnel to Gila Regional Medical Center ER, where unsuccessful attempts were made to resuscitate him, the source stated.
