The Copper CowBelles will be hosting their annual dinner/dance fundraiser at the Flame Convention Center on April 22, 2017. This year's event, "Bunkhouse Bash" will include dancing to The Yarbrough Band, a brisket dinner and a silent auction. This event is the primary fundraiser for the CowBelles agricultural scholarship fund

The Cowbelles are now taking scholarship applications for the 2017-2018 school year. Applicants must be entering their sophomore or higher year in college and be pursuing a degree in an agricultural field. They must also be a graduate of a Grant County high school. The Cowbelles are a non-profit organization whose interests are providing educational information about the beef industry and preserving the western lifestyle. The scholarship spokesperson, Pat Hunt, states "that while the Cowbelles are primarily interested in promoting accurate information about beef nutrition and ranching, we understand the need to continue our western heritage in all areas of agriculture. Therefore, we encourage students studying courses such as range management, animal and veterinary sciences and agricultural economics to apply". Students interested in receiving an application should contact Pat at 575-534-7649 as soon as possible.
