Take a bite out of downtown Silver City, NM on Labor Day weekend, as chefs serve up their culinary delights for the 19 th annual Taste of Downtown! Walk around downtown on Saturday, August 31 from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm and get delicious tastes from fifteen eateries. Restaurants, a local brewery, and specialty food establishments are offering delicious, sweet and savory tastes for only $20 a ticket.

The event was planned in collaboration with the Love Local Celebration and the Rolling Stones Gem and Mineral Show. Love Local is a promotion of downtown Silver City and numerous businesses are offering deals, discounts, and free drawings on Saturday, August 31. “There are more than 140 businesses in downtown Silver City, NM that are independent and locally owned, states Patrick Hoskins, Board President of Silver City MainStreet. We want to encourage more residents and visitors to come downtown and see what a great place it is to shop and live.”

“The Rolling Stones Gem and Mineral Show is also happening Labor Day weekend at the Grant County Convention Center and goes on for three days, so there is plenty of time to do the downtown events and see the Gem and Mineral Show. It’s a great weekend to come to Silver City with so much to do.”

“Funds raised by this event go to support Silver City MainStreet activities that include beautification projects and programs and projects that encourage residents and tourists to visit and shop downtown Silver City. MainStreet is currently working on the Main Street Plaza and
activating a dead-end street into a connection to the Big Ditch Park.”

Tickets for the Taste of Downtown can be purchased online at www.silvercitymainstreet.com, or at the Murray Ryan Visitor Center at 201 N. Hudson Street. Tickets will be available the day of the event at The Hub at 601 N. Bullard Street in downtown Silver City. Tickets are $20 each.
