Silver City -- Just in time for the holidays!  The Silver City Farmer's Market will hold a special "Downtown Harvest Market" this Saturday, November 23, from 10 am to 1 pm in the parking lot of the former Life Quest offices at the northwest corner of Pope Street and College Avenue.

Market vendors will be on hand with plenty of locally-grown, fresh produce including greens, pears and pecans, onions, garlic and winter squash.  Gila River Farms will be selling grass-fed meats, and Frisco Farms is bringing lots of seasonal root vegetables for sale. Local bakers will offer a variety of goods to satisfy your sweet tooth, and locally-made, handcrafted items will also be on sale for holiday gift-giving. Live music will be played throughout the day.

EBT card holders can stock up for the winter with "Double-Up Bucks" on all produce purchases. WIC coupons are also accepted. New Mexico residents aged 60 years and older may also qualify for $50 in farmers' market vouchers. Please stop by the Farmers' Market Booth for more information.

There will be no market on Saturday, November 30, but the regular winter market schedule resumes at 10 am on December 7 at the same location. For more information about the Farmer's Market please visit www.silvercityfarmersmarket.info.
