Stock up on Seasonal, Local Produce and Handmade Gifts Just in Time for the Holidays

Silver City -- Just in time for the holidays! This Saturday, December 21, the Silver City Farmers' Market will have food and crafts for sale by local vendors from 10 am to 1 pm in the parking lot of the former Life Quest offices at the northwest corner of Pope Street and College Avenue.

Market vendors will be on hand with locally-grown, seasonal produce. Gila River Farms will be selling grass-fed meats. Local bakers will offer a variety of goods to satisfy your sweet tooth. La Bonita Bakery will have tamales, tortillas, pastries and cookies. Barb Fila will be there with whole-grain bread and healthy holiday treats. Locally-made, handcrafted items such as soap, herbal products, jewelry, turned mesquite wood bowls and other items will also be on sale for last-minute holiday gift-giving. Live music will be played throughout the day.

SNAP recipients can stock up for the winter with "Double-Up Bucks" on all produce purchases. WIC coupons are also accepted. New Mexico residents aged 60 years and older may also qualify for $50 in farmers' market vouchers. Please stop by the Farmers' Market Booth for more information.

There will be no market on Saturday, December 27, but the regular winter market schedule resumes at 10 am on January 4th at the same location. For more information about the Farmer's Market, please visit www.silvercityfarmersmarket.info.
