“Auditions for “Exit Laughing,” an award-winning comedy by Paul Elliott, will take place Sunday, January 19, 2 pm, and Wednesday, January 22, 5:30 pm, at Little Toad Creek Distillery and Brewery, 200 N. Bullard St,” announced Silver City Community Theater (SCCT) Board President Thomas Leeper.

“It’s a really fun show on a mature topic,” according to Leeper. “What do you do when the highlight of your life for the past 30 years has been your weekly bridge night out with the "girls," and one of your foursome inconveniently dies? You do the most daring thing you've ever done. You "borrow" the ashes from the funeral home for one last card game, and the wildest, most exciting night of your lives involves a police raid, a stripper  and a whole new way of looking at all the fun you can have when you're truly living.”

”The cast is four women and one man. Three women are older; one woman and the man are 30ish. A copy of the script is available for review at Silver City Public Library information desk, 515 W College Ave,” Leeper said.

“This is a great opportunity for actresses of ‘a certain age,’ and those who want to play older,” according to SCCT Board Member MaryAnn Marlar, “I look forward to a great turn out for auditions.”

“Be the community in Community Theater—join SCCT! Individual and family memberships receive tickets and admission to opening night parties and workshops. Additionally, sponsorships are recognized in programs and other publications,” according to Leeper.

A home-grown theater company, SCCT grew out of a series of acting classes presented by The Western Institute for Lifelong Learning (WILL). Several class members joined forces to create the Silver City Community Theater. Now after 5 years and many productions, SCCT’s mission continues: to enrich, educate and entertain the Silver City and Grant County communities by providing a broad range of live theater experiences on a recurring, seasonal basis.

SCCT is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
