Now that everyone has recovered from the holidays, Glenwood groups are getting back into the swing of things.
Glenwood Community Library is hosting Movie Night on Friday Feb. 14. The film is “Ford v Ferrari” which has been nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture. It is based on the true story of a team of American engineers and designers, led by gifted automotive designer Carroll Shelby and his British driver, Ken Miles. Henry Ford II and Lee Iacocca have tasked them with building the Ford GT40, a new racing car in the hope of defeating the Ferrari racing team at the 1966 Le Mans race in France. It stars Matt Damon as Shelby and Christian Bale as Miles.
Free popcorn and soft drinks are provided. Donations are always appreciated. Showtime is 7 p.m. Friday February 14 at the library, 14 Menges Lane, Glenwood, New Mexico 88039.

Rachel Flanagan will be available to help patrons with basic computer skills on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. – noon.
Glenwood Street Market -- Every Saturday
After a brief hiatus following the holidays, the Glenwood Street Market, is back with a variety of unique arts and crafts, and baked goods and snacks. The market is open every Saturday on Highway 180 in downtown Glenwood. Winter hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Trading Post has reopened under new management, Kerry Ruth and Carla Schmieder, who also operate Los Olmos Lodge. The rejuvenated store, on Highway 180 in downtown Glenwood, offers snacks, drinks, sandwiches and – gas (available 24/7). As an added bonus, they offer hand-crafted local items and have purchased the stock from the Rock Shop which had been closed. Rockhounds of all ages will be pleased to peruse their offerings.
Glenwood Woman’s Club Scholarship
Every year the Glenwood Woman’s Club offers a scholarship for qualifying high school seniors who plan to further their education, at a college, vocational or trade school.
Applications are available this month for seniors attending Reserve, Cliff, or home schooled. Students applying must live in Glenwood, Alma, Pleasanton or Mogollon, NM. The applications specify further requirements. Contact school counselors or GWC committee members to receive an application. GWC members are Nancy Coates, Durelle Freeman, and Margaret Nunez. Applications must be received by March 31. The scholarship is funded by GWC’s annual Rummage Sale.
GWC Rummage Sale
This year’s Rummage Sale is set for Saturday April 4. As you do your Spring Cleaning or downsizing you can get rid of your items by donating them. Times for dropping off items will be announced at a later date.
Cosmic Campground Weekend is set for Feb. 21-23. Bring a friend, red filtered flashlight, very warm clothes, lawn chair, and telescope and binoculars if you have them. Fireworks donations
