Priscilla Lucero will be the Rotary speaker on May 9, 2023. Lucero is the Executive Director of the Southwest Council of Governments.

Her topic will be: “Legislative Session completed in March, 2023.” She joined the Council in 1987, and became the Executive Director in 2003.

Lucero provides technical assistance to her region in matters relating to economic development, transportation, housing, water and wastewater. 

Lucero has served on numerous boards in Grant County, and was recently appointed by Governor Lujan Grisham to serve on the New Mexico Finance Authority Trust Fund Committee and the New Mexico Water Trust Fund Board. 

There is a change of venue for the month of May. The Rotary meetings will be held at the Silver Bowling Center, in the 10th Frame Lounge, 2020 Memory Lane, Silver City, from 12 to 1p m. Meetings are open to the public; lunch can be ordered from the menu before going into the lounge.

Since its founding in 1923, the Silver City Rotary Club has provided support and service to numerous nonprofit organizations and civic causes in  Silver City and Grant County as well as supporting and participating in humanitarian projects sponsored by Rotary International service to numerous non-profit organizations and civic causes in.
