PNM invites customers to thank linemen in celebration of National Lineman Appreciation Day

(ALBUQUERQUE, NM) – Thursday, April 18, 2024, is National Lineman Appreciation Day, and energy companies across the United States will celebrate. The electricity that powers our lives is an essential part of the world we live in, and so are the employees who battle inclement weather and challenging situations every day to make sure we continue to have safe, reliable power in our homes and businesses. The jobs they perform are imperative to ensuring the most important needs and functions of our communities stay intact.

In honor of the hard work that PNM crews do every day to serve our community, PNM is offering customers a chance to send a personalized thank you card to the linemen who work in our neighborhoods. Now, and throughout the entire month of April, customers are encouraged to visit PNM.com/ThankALineman  and fill out a thank you note for PNM crews. You can even upload your own personal photos!

Linemen and other field employees in the energy industry work hard to power our lives, regardless of whatever else is happening in the world. As storms rage in, forcing us to take cover in our homes, PNM linemen are rushing out into the elements to restore power and make repairs to keep the public safe. Linemen are among the first responders in the community and face inherent danger every time they step out to do their jobs.

“It takes a special level of diligence and resourcefulness to work through the challenges our linemen face every day,” said Wesley Gray, director of Transmission and Distribution Operations with PNM. “As the community continues to draw closer together during this trying time, we look forward to having customers share in the gratitude we have for their extraordinary work.”

The website will be live through April 30, 2024. Customers can also view other cards that people have submitted. PNM has shared this website with our crews so they can go online and read the thoughts expressed by the customers they proudly serve.
