Hidalgo County, NM – On June 13, 2019 at around 12:00 p.m., the New Mexico State Police received information of a suspect wanted in connection to a homicide in Massachusetts, was thought to be traveling through New Mexico. The suspect was identified as Gilfrey Gregory (27) of Springfield, MA. Gregory was believed to be traveling in 2018 Dodge Caravan with Florida license plate IYUD97. 

A New Mexico State Police officer located a vehicle matching the description traveling west on Interstate 10 near mile marker 20, west of Lordsburg, NM. 

Officers conducted a high-risk felony traffic stop on the vehicle and Gregory was taken into custody without incident. There was a total of five juvenile passengers in the vehicle at the time Gregory was taken into custody. The children were placed into the custody of New Mexico Children Youth and Family Department.

Gregory was booked into the Hidalgo County Adult Detention Center on active arrest warrant out of Massachusetts. No further details are available about this incident.
