State’s largest energy company offers free energy saving program that extends beyond just Veterans Day

(Albuquerque, N.M.) –  As Veterans Day approaches, PNM is offering all active or retired military customers a free home energy savings program for the remainder of the year that is designed to reduce energy use and lower electricity bills.

PNM will send an expert energy ambassador to the home to analyze how it uses electricity and will install energy saving devices at no cost. With more than 140 veterans employed at PNM Resources, the company appreciates the dedication of military personnel and wanted to give back in a way that was longer lasting.

“What you do for a veteran is often more important than what you say,” said Julie Rowey, PNM executive director of customer marketing operations. “We want to offer something more substantive that can bring some long-term financial savings to those that have served our country.”

Additionally, the company gives back to local military through community volunteerism and awarding grants to military nonprofits. In the past year, PNM employees have volunteered hundreds of hours to various military-related organizations and have provided more than $75,000 in grants to veteran nonprofit affiliations statewide.

Military veterans can simply contact PNM by calling 888-DIAL-PNM to book their PNM Home Energy Checkup appointment or online at pnmhomecheckup.com. The PNM Home Energy Checkup must be completed by December 31, 2019. Military ID or other official form of service must be presented at time of appointment for the program fee to be waived.
