Albuquerque, NM - On January 21, 2020 at about 7:41 p.m., New Mexico State Police officers responded to the sound of a loud crash by the Albuquerque State Police Office, near the intersection of Carlisle Boulevard and Menaul Boulevard in Albuquerque, NM. 

The initial investigation indicated a 2010 Chevrolet Suburban was traveling north on Carlisle Boulevard when the vehicle approached the intersection of Menaul Boulevard. For reasons unknown a pedestrian, Julian Sanchez (56) of Albuquerque, NM was struck in the roadway of Carlisle Boulevard, by the Chevrolet.  Sanchez was treated on scene by Emergency Medical Personal. Sanchez succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash and he was pronounced deceased on scene by the Office of Medical Investigator.

The driver of the Chevrolet, who will not be named, was not injured. The driver did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol and is not facing charges.
