Lily C. Deaton, 90, a resident of Bayard, NM entered eternal rest Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Silver City Care Center. She was born November 24, 1928 in Lordsburg, NM to Ballard and Minnie C. McNeil. She had a good life and always had a beautiful smile. She loved her family, her hobbies, and to garden. She fought a long battle and is at peace now. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Gardner of Bayard; Sandra McDougall of New Jersey; granddaughter, Christina Barker of CA; great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Barker of CA; grandson, James McDougall of New Jersey; her nephew, Rodger Huffman and wife Michele; her sisters in-law, Yvonne McNeil, Jacklyn McNeil, and Patricia McNeil. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Michael Deaton, three brothers, James, Dale and Gene McNeil, one sister, Nelda Huffman. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 5th at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Bayard, NM from 1-3pm with Pastor Mark Stevenson officiating.  Cremation has taken place at Terrazas Crematory.
