verovich 02Anthony (Tony) Michael Verovich Sr, 58, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2019 in Las Cruces, NM surrounded by family. He was born on March 29, 1961 in Douglas, Arizona to Joanne Jung. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Concepcion Moore, mother Joanne Jung, and sisters Margarita Gracia and Sandy Moore.

Tony was an “I’ll take my chances” kind of guy and known for his ability to build or repair just about anything. He had a passion for collecting vintage items and restoring bikes. He had a facetious sense of humor and infectious smile. His beautiful green eyes and strong, hardworking hands were unforgettable. His face would light up when he was around his grandkids. Their “Tata Tony” would have given them everything he had, had their parents allowed it.

He is loved by many and will be missed dearly. He is survived by 3 children, 9 grandchildren, 5 siblings, 13 nieces and nephews, 7 great nieces and nephews, and brother-in-law Dennis Trujillo. His 3 children are Anthony Jr. (son) and Annette Verovich,  Stephanie (daughter) and Stephen Gonzales, all of Silver City, and Jennifer Verovich (daughter) and Joe Arrey of Las Cruces, NM; grandchildren- Analissa Quinteros (Gabriel), Enrique Quinteros, Aaliyah Vasquez, Xzavien Abeyta, Anthony Verovich III, Estevan Gonzales, Zoey Arrey, Armando Verovich, and Elias Gonzales; siblings- Connie (sister) and Todd Hampton, Eddie Gracia Jr. (brother), Lexy Barber (sister), JoJo (sister) Gracia Duffy (Alfonso), Hank (brother) and Melissa Balensiefer.

The holy rosary will be recited by Deacon Art Gutierrez on Thursday, October 24th at 9:30am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels. The Memorial Mass will follow at 11am at St. Francis Newman Center with Father Bartholomew Ezenwelem officiating. Concluding service and inurnment will follow at Memory Lane cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are Anthony Jr, Anthony III, and Armando Verovich, Enrique Quinteros, Xzavien Abeyta, Estevan and Elias Gonzales. Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory.
