marin 01Erlinda Duran Marin, 92, a resident of Hurley, NM entered eternal rest Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Fort Bayard Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born December 26, 1926 in Rincon, NM to Tomas Duran and Juanita Lujan Duran. She was affectionately known as "Nana" because she was second mother to her younger siblings. She raised her children and continued to provide childcare for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a dedicated housewife, loving mother and grandmother. Her favorite pastime was going to Bingo and trips to the casino. She had a good circle of friends who joined her at bingo. She loved to cook and bake. She was remembered for making stacks of tortillas for her children and their friends. She was much admired by family for her compassion and Gentle Spirit. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 71 yrs. Genaro J. Marin of the family home; two daughters, Lillian Arsola of Silver City; Doris Marin of Silver City; three sons, George Marin and wife Doris of Silver City; Bernie Marin and companion Teresa Madrid of Bayard; Genaro “Tito” Marin of Silver City; fourteen grandchildren, George, Michelle, Bernie “Sonny”, Amanda, LeAnn, Nolan, Joseph, Genaro III, Steven, Michael, Roque, Lakeisha, Azuriah, and Reagen; seventeen great grandchildren, and ten great great grandchildren; three brothers, Freddy Duran and wife Natalia of Sunland, CA; Sammy Duran and wife Vangie of Albuquerque; Jackie Duran and wife Carol of Phoenix, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Reagen Arsola, her sister, Adelina Holguin, five brothers, Alex, Tomas “Bebito”, Roman, Luis, and Benjamin “Benjie Duran.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 29th from 10-11am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels. The funeral service will follow at 11am with Pastor Jacob Duran officiating. Concluding service and interment will follow at Hurley cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nolan and Joseph Parra, George Marin, Reagen Arsola, Michael and Roque Marin. Honorary pallbearers will be Genaro Marin III, Steven Marin, Sonny Marin, Mandy Marin, LeAnn Marin, Michelle Gutierrez, Lakeisha Arsola, Azuriah Arsola, her great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
