Robert W. Doeling, 87, passed away Friday, November 29, 2019 in his home in Hanover, NM. With him when he passed was his daughter Virginia Thomas, with her husband Mark Thomas, and his grandson Ryan Thomas. He was a loyal husband, loving father, and admirable grandfather. Robert was born in Denver, CO in 1932. Robert married the love of his life, Evelyn Doeling on September 1, 1956 and together raised four children, William Doeling, Catherine Sherman, Mathew Doeling and Virginia Thomas. Among those children have brought wonderful grandchildren to share his love. 

Robert spent many of his days taking care of those who he loved the most. His love for his wife was like a love you would read about in a romance novel. He had the biggest heart, and warmest laugh that could bring a smile to anyone’s face. Every year for Christmas, he created amazing memories by cutting down a Christmas tree off his property with his grandkids. He would spend his time in his leather shop and was happy to share that time with his grandkids, inviting them to help. He enjoyed riding his horses on different trails, with his wife and later with his grandkids. Robert Doeling lived a life of faith, love and adventure. 

He is survived by his son, Mathew Doeling of Porterville, CA; two daughters, Catherine Sherman and husband Stoney of Brawley, CA; Virginia Thomas and husband Mark of Hanover; seven grandchildren, Jace, Carli, Chasi, Juliana, Amelia, Kiana, and Ryan; two great grandchildren, Autumn and Tommy; two brothers, Jim Doeling and wife Lisa of Midland, TX; Larry Doeling and wife Carol of Pleasanton, CA.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Evelyn Miller Doeling; his son, William Doeling; and sister, Ann.

Visitation will be Monday, December 16 from 5-6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the holy rosary being recited by Deacon Richard Rodriguez to begin at 6pm. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 17 at 9am at Santa Clara Catholic Church with Father Casmir Anozie officiating. Concluding service cremation will follow at Terrazas Crematory. Inurnment will take place at Santa Clara cemetery at 4:30pm.
