Lucy Vega, 89, of Silver City passed away Monday October 23, 2023 at her home.

Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Funeral Chapels.  A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held at Ten o’clock in the morning on Friday, November 10, 2023 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Bayard.  Officiating will be Father Martin Okonkwo.  Inurnment of Lucy’s ashes will be at a later date.   

Lucy is survived by her three daughters, Mary Vega, Linda Vega, and Lisa Aguilar; seven grandchildren, Gabriel Casares & wife Shay of Elko, NV; Jessica Casares of Carlsbad, NM; Cassandra Jablonski and husband Thomas of Carlsbad, NM; Patrick Aguilar Jr & wife Cindy of Tucson A.Z., Lucinda Rivera & husband Chris of Las Cruces NM; Christy Valencia of Las Cruces, NM and Valerie Vega of Silver City.  Also surviving are her great grandchildren, Jasmine, Jaclyn, Jordann, Rochelle, Christian, Fabian, Frankie, Diego, Xavier, Jordan, Jayden, Victoria, Ian, Eden, Patricio III, Aliyah and Izayah as well as 10 great-great grandchildren; sister, Josie Abeyta; brother, Pete Abeyta.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesus; her son, Jesus Vega, Jr.
