...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO MIDNIGHT MST FRIDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Travel will be very difficult to impossible, including during the morning commute on Friday.
Total snow accumulations of 12 to 18 inches are expected acrossmountain areas above 7000 feet with 6 to 12 inches over much of the lower elevations. Near blizzard conditions may exist over a few locations as winds will occasionally gust to around 40 mph.

* WHERE...Upper Gila River Valley, Southern Gila Highlands/Black
Range, Southern Gila Foothills/Mimbres Valley and Eastern
Black Range Foothills.

* WHEN...6 PM this evening to midnight Friday night. The heaviest
snowfall rates will occur between 5 AM and 6 PM Friday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Dangerous traveling conditions will exist
from icy snow covered roads. In addition the combination of snow
and blowing snow will reduce the visibility to under a quarter
mile over a few locations. Some road closures may be required.
