Politically, just about everything we see is orchestrated. The only question is, who is actually pulling the strings and what is their long-term goal? How deep does the conspiracy go? Is it a group of very rich and very powerful people that run companies like Vanguard, BlackRock, and State Street? If so, how much do they really orchestrate? Are they micromanagers or do they set the long term broad range goals and let their minions run the day-to-day operations? We might never know but that's not the purpose of today's column, it's rather to point out that on some level what we've seen in the last couple of weeks raises some significant questions.

There will be an October surprise. Joe Biden will not be the nominee for the Democrat party. They know he is not capable of completing a second term. Cognitively it is highly unlikely that he could last another four years. They are barely keeping him upright as it is now, but it won't be long before their efforts will remind you of the movie, Weekend at Bernie's. There are several scenarios that would prevent him from continuing as their candidate, ranging from a legitimate medical episode or a trip and fall, any of which could happen naturally. I don't believe the impeachment proceedings would remove him from office but there may be a 'scandal' related to the information uncovered during that process that makes a second term improbable forcing him to drop out of the race. I could even see a scenario where he pardons Hunter and riles his base to the point that he loses their support. While we don't know what will precipitate his dropping out, I'd be surprised if he doesn't.

Don't expect Kamala to take his place. She's not smart enough to do what she's told. She'll try to toe the line but she's not capable of doing so. Watch when she speaks; the word salads are so convoluted and inane, she makes Joe look articulate and erudite. Even hard-core Trump haters won't support her. Look for Gavin Newsom, Michelle Obama, or someone previous candidate like Mayor Pete to jump in and 'save' the day.

Speaking of not smart enough to do what she's told; Michelle Lujan Grisham has really stepped out of bounds. Her suspension of our Second Amendment rights set off a firestorm that was predictable in certain segments of our society. What none of us could see coming was the backlash from not only members of her own cabinet, but from some of the most ardent and vocal gun control advocates. Her party abandoned her in a way that tells me she took this action on her own, without the prior approval of the party leaders. Either that or they wanted her out of the way. Remember, she thought she was promised a high-profile position in the Biden administration and didn't get it, despite blindly following orders regarding Covid mandates and tying New Mexico to California climate change policies.

Maybe she thought she could gain favor by being the first to do what many gun control advocates dream about, finding a way to take away our guns. Don't be fooled by the district attorney's, attorney general's, or the corporate media's faux outrage at her actions, they all quietly support her actions and hope to be able to do what she tried to do. But why sacrifice her? Her testiness in recent interviews leads me to believe she was a sacrificial lamb, doing what someone in the party instructed or suggested she do, then being abandoned. She's not happy.

The Democrat party leaders know they are losing the gun control battle right now. This gives them a plausible argument that they support the 2nd amendment. That there are limits to how far they will go to take our guns away from us. An argument that the less informed voters will buy. It effectively kills this issue as a significant campaign talking point for Republicans. It's perfect; they can claim they went after one of their own, a sitting governor, to protect your rights. Howie will be able to distance himself from her as he gears up to run for Governor, with 'common sense' suggestions for gun control.

Whatever happens in either case, be sure that it's being carefully orchestrated by someone at some level. Things like this just don't happen organically. The questions we have to answer are who's doing the orchestrating and what is their end game? I don't think we'll like the answers to either question.
