One of the undeniable truths in my world is that politicians continue to lie to us because they believe we are gullible and dumb. They aren't necessarily wrong since we continue to re-elect them to office in spite of their hypocrisy and inability to keep their promises. In the past they tried to hide their hypocrisy or lie about it, but these days it seems they just don't care.

The most recent example of their illogical and hypocritical plans has to do with transgender kids. Think about all of the things a child, under 18 years of age, cannot do without parental permission. They cannot see an 'R' rated movie; get a tattoo or piercing; buy alcohol or a gun; enter into a binding contract; the list could go on and on. Except, of course, for being able to make the significant life altering decision to 'change' their gender using chemicals or surgical intervention. Parental permission is not only not needed, but also illegal for a parent to be involved, unless of course they support the decision unequivocally. How is it that the one thing the parents are kept out of, is the one that has the most significant consequences?

Let's go a bit further. I read another story about a little boy suspended from kindergarten because he did what little kids do, he hugged his classmates on the first day back to school. He hugged both boys and girls because he was excited to see them again (they had been in pre-K the year prior). That is sexual harassment especially since he did not ask for nor obtain consent.

But the very same school will be inviting drag queens and transgenders to read to the very same class from books that describe in very explicit detail anal/vaginal sex; oral sex; bondage & discipline; sex between boys & boys, girls & girls, and boys & girls and just about anything you can imagine. How does that make any sense? Don't hug your classmate in a non-sexual way but we are going to teach 5-year-olds how to see each other in sexualized ways. No wonder kids are messed up emotionally.

When parents protest and demand common sense prevail, they are attacked as being homophobic, transphobic, and bigots. It's an effective strategy as most of us do not stand up to name calling, sometimes with good reason. We've seen people lose their jobs simply because of the accusation being made. But we must stand up to bullying, which is another area of hypocrisy; anti-bullying campaigns prevail in our schools, yet those same people will bully parents into submission.

Understand this, we are the majority. We know what is best for our children. We know our children better than any school counselor or teacher. We have the power to take control of our kids and we need to do it.
