812 2688mc ropingPhoto by David Thornburg - Today’s cowboys and cowgirls compete in events showcasing traditional ranching skills at the Brush Poppers Ranch Rodeo and Rope Tying events.  The 4th of July in little Glenwood is like stepping back in time with its multi-day celebration including a ranch rodeo, art auction, a dance with live music, a parade and of course, fireworks.
It all kicks off on Saturday July 1 with the Brush Poppers Ranch Rodeo at the Glenwood Park Arena on Catwalk Road across from the community park. Competitions include team roping, cow milking, and horse catching. Admission is free.
The rodeo will begin at 10 a.m. For more information, call JC or Dalli Nelson at (575) 242-1448.
Saturday evening, the Frisco Cowbelles BBQ dinner starts at 5:30 p.m. at Glenwood Community Park. Dinners are $15 for adults and $5 for children 11 and under.
The Cowbelles annual art auction begins at 7 p.m. Among the featured artists are JaNeil Anderson, Shannon Lawlor,Robert DSC 8342 crop 2Photo by Cheryl Thornburg - Artwork by Kathy Winkler will be featured at the Cowbelles art auction July 1.  

"Shoofly" Shufelt, Dino Cornay, Priscilla Folkert, Kathy Winkler and Terry Duncan. Proceeds provide funding for Ag scholarships and the famous educational McKeen Ranch Days program where buses of school children arrive at the ranch to learn about agriculture and ranching.
At 8 p.m., the Real West Band takes the stage so you can dance the night away. Admission is free.

The Little Angels Benefit Roping event begins at 2:30 p.m. Proceeds will benefit two local families.
