“Rhythms and Shakes, Sounds and Beats: a Workshop”

Download as iCal file

Saturday, July 22, 2017, 10:00am - 01:00pm

Drums, bells, shakers, and the human voice are essential parts of many spiritual traditions. This workshop explores “holding the heart beat" and then playing with various other rhythmic sounds. Participants will also work a bit with voice and overtones; and discuss, then experience, the phenomenon of entrainment, learn basic rhythm patterns and create playful magic. If you have a drum, rattle, or other percussive instrument bring it. If you don't have an instrument, come anyway -- there will be plenty there!
