YOKOSUKA, Japan - Senior Chief Petty Officer Coley Blount, a native of Glenwood, New Mexico, serves in Japan aboard a forward-deployed U.S. Navy warship.
Blount joined the Navy 17 years ago. Today, Blount serves as an electrician's mate aboard USS Dewey.
"I always wanted to join the military," said Blount. "I wanted to see the world and test myself. I had a lot of guidance from my father who had served in the Vietnam War in the same job."
