FatherChristmasSilver City -- Christmas goodies, free children's activities, music, festive food, and arts and crafts vendors highlight the Silver City Museum's beloved Christmas holiday tradition, "Victorian Christmas and More." The event, which takes place in the museum courtyard from 11 am to 3 pm, Saturday, December 16, has expanded to better reflect the rich cultural diversity and traditions of the desert Southwest.

"This holiday celebration is designed to reflect the entirety of Grant County's rich, cultural diversity and history," said Bart Roselli, museum director. "We're very grateful to our community partners for participating this year, including our wonderful volunteers at the Silver City Museum Society, First American Bank, First New Mexico Bank, and Shaun Bird of Edward Jones, as well as LULAC, and our many talented, local musicians and food and craft vendors.  We hope everyone will join us for some holiday fun and community celebration."

Participants will be treated to free apple cider and cookies, and children who visit Father Christmas will be gifted an age-appropriate book from Literacy Link Leamos. The Grant County Chapter of the Imagination Library will also be signing children up for their book program. Children are also invited to create paper snowflake ornaments, and the Audubon Society will provide a pre-made paper feather that children and parents may paint, and an activity book about feathers will be given to participants.
