As school summer break approaches, it's the perfect time for the community to come together and make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. The Silver City Gospel Mission has an urgent need for dedicated volunteers to assist with unloading our food truck on the first and last Wednesday of each month, or the 1st, 4th, and 5th Wednesdays when there are five Wednesdays in a month.

First, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the students of Calvary Christian Academy for their invaluable assistance during the school year. Your dedication and commitment have made a significant impact on our community, and we couldn't have done it without you. However, as summer break arrives, these amazing students won't be available to help, and we need your support to fill the gap.

We're looking for a regular volunteer crew that we can rely on to help unload the more than 5,000 pounds of food we receive from the Roadrunner Food Bank out of Albuquerque. This is an ideal opportunity for civic groups seeking a meaningful service project, as well as individuals who want to make a positive change in their community.

To get involved, you can simply show up at the Silver City Gospel Mission around 9:30 or 10:00 AM on the designated Wednesdays, or call us at 575-388-5071 to find out the exact arrival time of the truck. We are located at 111 S. Texas St in downtown Silver City, right behind Jalisco's restaurant. For more information, please visit our website at www.silvercitygospelmission.org

The food we receive is a vital resource for our soup kitchen and food pantry, helping us provide nourishment and hope to countless individuals and families. By volunteering your time and effort, you are not only supporting those in need, but also contributing to a sense of community and connection that is priceless.

If you have a desire to create change, feel connected, and make a difference, then by joining our food truck unloading crew, you will be doing exactly that. Your efforts will be directly impacting the lives of those who rely on our services, and in turn, you will feel a sense of accomplishment and pride in knowing you played a part in the fight against hunger.

So, this summer, step up and make a lasting impact on your community. Join the Silver City Gospel Mission food truck unloading crew and be a part of the solution to hunger in our community. Together, we can make a difference—one box of food at a time.

In addition to helping us unload the food truck, you'll also have the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals and form lasting friendships with fellow volunteers. The sense of camaraderie and teamwork fostered by this experience can be a truly rewarding aspect of volunteering.

Remember, no experience is necessary, and we welcome volunteers of all ages and backgrounds. Whether you can commit to helping every month or only occasionally, your time and effort are greatly appreciated. Every bit of help counts, and together we can make a tangible difference in the lives of our neighbors in need.

To sign up or learn more, please contact the Silver City Gospel Mission at (575) 388-5071, visit us at 111 S. Texas St in downtown Silver City, or check out our website at www.silvercitygospelmission.org. We look forward to welcoming you to our team of dedicated volunteers, and we thank you in advance for your support and commitment to making a difference in our community.
