Finance Director promoted
SANTA ROSA, NM – The Guadalupe County Commission voted October 17 to name Rose Fernandez as the new county manager. She will also stay on as the finance director.
“I want to thank Commissioners Tapia, Moncayo, and Campos for giving me this opportunity to serve as County Manager. It is an honor to serve the commissioners, staff, and most importantly the constituents,” said Rose Fernandez. “Throughout my career with Guadalupe County, I have worked with several county managers and commissioners and have been given the opportunity to learn from them, which has prepared me for this position.” She is ready to work as a team with the elected officials and staff, making ethical decisions that are best for Guadalupe County.
Rose brings over 23 years of management experience in county government. She started in emergency management and then in 2005, moved to the finance director position. She was born and raised in Clovis, graduated from Albuquerque High School, and attended college at Luna Community College for Business Administration and Governmental Accounting. Through the NMSU’s New Mexico Education Designed to Generate Excellence in the Public Sector program, Rose achieved her certification as a Certified Public Official, Certified Public Supervisor, and is currently completing her portfolio to receive her certification of Certified Advocate for Public Ethics.
