Deans and nomination committees select honorees based on their outstanding academic accomplishments, notable leadership abilities and extracurricular commitments. Each student will be acknowledged during NMSU’s spring 2023 commencement ceremonies.

“At NMSU, we are fortunate to educate some of the most inspirational and exceptional students in the nation,” said David Strong, interim president of the NMSU Foundation. “It is truly humbling to honor these outstanding graduates from each of our academic colleges, as well as two of our graduate students. I am excited to see what these amazing Aggies will accomplish in their communities and around the world.”

The NMSU Alumni Association’s Outstanding Graduate Award is a respected and longstanding tradition at the university and a notable distinction for its recipients. This semester’s winners will be recognized at the Outstanding Graduates Luncheon Friday, May 12, on the NMSU Foundation website, and on the @NMSUAlumFriends social media pages.

“NMSU is a Hispanic-serving and a minority-serving institution known for its outstanding academic programs, highly respected faculty and nationally recognized research,” Strong said. “Because of this, the university consistently produces exceptional and competent degree candidates who are prepared to take bold steps and shape the future.”
