Ronnie G. Acosta, 67, a resident of Silver City New Mexico, entered eternal rest Monday January 1, 2018 with his son Joey by his side, at Gila Regional Medical Center.
He was born August 10, 1950 to Millie G. Flores and Max Flores Sr.
He honorably served in the US Army from November 1969 to November 1971.
He was a retired underground miner and open pit copper miner.
He was a loved son, brother, father, husband and grandfather who had a great sense of humor and was a hard worker.
He loved music, cars, and trucks. He enjoyed being outside maintaining his yard.
Ronnie will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Virginia Acosta, daughters Evangeline Bray, and Rita Acosta of Tucson, AZ, sons Joey Hoover, Michael Hoover (Angelica), and Robert Hoover(Ashley), and daughters Marcie Hoover, and Valorie Hoover. He had 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandsons. Also surviving are 7 sisters Sharon Ortega (Mo), Yolanda Escobar (Richard), Debbie Flores, Cynthia Ortiz, Belinda Cohn (Frankie), Sandra Flores, Rhonda Torres (Alfonso), and one brother Max Flores Jr. (Anna) and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father Millie and Max Flores Sr. and one brother Gilbert Flores.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, January 5 at 12:30 pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with Deacon Bill Holguin officiating. Concluding service and inurnment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Joey Hoover, Robert Hoover, Michael Hoover, Jalen Lamar, Jessie Britton and T.J. Ortiz. Honorary pallbearers are the rest of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Cremation has been entrusted to Terrazas Crematory.
