Anthony Polanco, 43, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Monday, August 6, 2018 at Advanced Care Hospital in Las Cruces, NM. He was born May 22, 1975 in Silver City to Prajedes and Ernestina Cook Polanco.

Anthony’s one of a kind laughter and sense of humor is what set him apart and endeared him to all who loved him. His playful and creative ability lead to fun filled times at home around the kitchen table, cruising down a back road, camping or anywhere he would get called to be at. Elvis, Superman, Star Wars and the Pittsburg Steelers were his passion that he shared with everyone and were the richer for having done so. His life although brief was filled with love and compassion and he remains our father and mother’s son, our loving brother and uncle, loyal cousin and trusted friend. He walks now with our mother and departed family and is sharing his laughter once again.

He is survived by his father, Prajedes “Sonny” Polanco of Gila; three brothers, James Polanco and wife Sandra of Lovelock, NV; Brian Polanco and wife Jerrene of Hurley; Mariano Estrada and wife Mary Lou of Silver City; three maternal uncles, Merejildo Placencio and wife Lupe “Mere” of Silver City; Eduardo Placencio and wife Ceceria “Loyta” of Silver City; Francisco “Franky” Placencio and wife Consuelo “Conne” of Tucson, AZ; one maternal auntie, Manuela “Nellie” Peru and husband Lalo of Silver City; three paternal aunties, Celia Estrada of Silver City; Martha Ortega of Gila; Margaret Polanco of Gila; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Ernestina Cook (6/18); uncles, Carlos, Santiago “Jimmy”, Theodore, and Ramon Polanco; auntie, Josepha Placencio. The holy rosary will be on Friday, August 10 at 1:30pm at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The memorial mass will follow at 2pm with Father Oliver Obele officiating. Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory. Arrangements are with Terrazas Funeral Chapels and Crematory “Trusted care for the ones you love” ~ 575-537-0777.
