holguin 02 copyConnie Holguin, the matriarch, our rock, our queen, passed away peacefully from natural causes at age 87 on February 23, 2019 in Tucson, AZ. She was visited and comforted by her loved ones in the days leading up to and on the day she passed.

Connie was born February 9, 1932 in Hurley, New Mexico. She was a beloved daughter to Hilario and Josefa Moreno.  Connie met her husband, Raul Holguin, they married and were blessed with four wonderful sons: Michael, Robert, Mark and Danny.  Raul and Connie were married for 62 years.

Connie led a full and beautiful life. She skillfully balanced devotion to her family and entrepreneurship with a successful home business. She was also a passionate reader, an amazing cook, and always made sure her home was a safe place where everyone felt welcome. She whistled like a songbird and was honest, loving and selfless. Connie was also feisty, strong willed and was not afraid to speak her mind.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Raul, her son Michael, her parents Hilario and Josefa, her brothers Manuel, Chris, Gilbert and her sister, Corina.

Her life will be forever cherished by her surviving sons, Robert, Mark and Danny, her sisters Julia and Stella, her grandchildren; Jen, Joe, Gabe, Angelina and honorary granddaughters, Andrea and Suzi and her 11 great grandchildren; Maya, Eva, Gavin, Aisha, Mason, Haven, Kaden, Jace, Zeta, Aria, and Oli.

Visitation will be held 9-10 am @ Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the rosary following at 10:00 am Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 am at Infant Jesus Catholic Shrine. Interment will be at 1:00 pm at Fort Bayard National Cemetery where Connie will join her late husband, Raul Holguin, in everlasting peace.  Arrangements are with Terrazas Funeral Chapels “Trusted care for the ones you love” ~ 575-537-0777.  To send condolences, visit www.terrazasfuneralchapel.com.
