armijo 02David V. Armijo Sr., 80, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at his residence. He was born March 27, 1939 in Lordsburg, NM to Ramon Armijo and Estanislada Valles Armijo. David always helped all his family. He was a caregiver to his daughter Rita for many years and always made sure everyone was taken care of. David had a love for baseball whether it be watching it on TV, watching the kids or playing it himself. He was known for his pitching ability.  He loved the outdoors, enjoyed going camping and had a passion for his New Mexico Music. He is survived by two sons, David Armijo Jr. (Veronica) of Silver City; Robert “Bobo” Armijo of Silver City; three daughters, Sally Armijo of Silver City; Rita Gomez of Silver City; Judy Gonzales of Silver City; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; one sister, Rosie Jaramillo (Bobby) of San Pedro, CA; in-laws, Elizabeth Villalobos of Los Lunas, NM; Irene Villalobos of Los Lunas; Donald Villalobos of Albuquerque; Estelle Gallegos and husband Tony of Bosque Farms, NM., caregiver, his great granddaughter, Felicia Reese of Silver City; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Natalia V. Armijo; one brother, Robert Armijo; two sisters, Sally Rodriguez and Jenny Zuniga. Visitation will be Thursday, April 11 from 5-6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the holy rosary being recited by Deacon Bill Holguin on 6pm. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, April 12 at 9:30am at St. Francis Newman Center with Fr. Ezenwelem Bartholomew officiating. Concluding service and inurnment will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Gomez, Josh and Jeffrey Armijo, Paul Gonzales, David Armijo Jr., Gabe Gallegos. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Gallegos and Donald Villalobos. Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory.
