Wanda Garcia Najera, 46, formerly of Silver City, NM

NajeraWWanda Garcia Najera, 46, formerly of Silver City, passed away, June 21, 2023 in El Paso surrounded by her family.

Wanda was born September 28, 1976 in Silver City to Richard Lawrence Garcia and Lydia Roybal Bustillos.  Wanda enjoyed traveling and shopping.  But more than that Wanda loved being with her family, spending as much time as she could with family and friends. 

Wanda is survived by her husband, David Najera; mother, Lydia Roybal Bustillos; brothers, Lawrence Garcia (Ashleigh) and Dennis Hartley (Amy); sister, Lawrene Garcia (Rebekah); mother-in-law, Sylvia Najera; maternal grandmother, Irene Roybal; nieces and nephews, Otto Garcia, Marian Garcia, Waylon Garcia, Myles Hartley and Bradley Hartley.  Wanda was preceded in death by her father, Richard Lawrence Garcia; maternal grandfather, Alfred Roybal; paternal grandparents, Vivian and Matilde Garcia; and uncles, Pat Garcia and Nelson Garcia.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service to celebrate her life will be at ten o’clock in the morning on Friday, July 14, 2023 at Baca’s Funeral Chapels.  Officiating will be Father Bartholomew Ezenwelem, from St. Francis Newman Center Parish.

Hans Kruse, 79, a resident of Silver City, NM

KruseHHans Kruse, 79, of Silver City passed away, June 25, 2023 at Silver City Care Center.

Hans was born April 10, 1944 in Dresden, Germany to Hans Werner and Alexandra Kruse. He was a Silver City resident for over 40 years and had owned and operated his own construction and remodeling business for 25 years before retiring.

Hans is survived by his daughter, Andrea Kruse; and friend and caregiver, Bill Herron and friend, Allen Arguello.

At Hans' request, cremation will take place and no funeral services are scheduled at this time.

Hilda A. Hernandez, 78, a resident of Santa Clara, NM

Hilda A. Hernandez, 78, of Santa Clara passed away at her residence surrounded by loved ones on Monday, June 26, 2023.

Visitation will take place from five until six o'clock in the evening on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Baca's Funeral Chapel in Silver City, NM. A Funeral Service for Hilda will be held at twelve-thirty in the afternoon on Friday, July 7, 2023 at Baca's Funeral Chapel. Concluding Services and Interment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Jose Hernandez.
